GDKP trend

Apparently GDPK ( Gold DKP) has been around for a little while now, basic idea is you have a base amount of money to spend on gear you get inspected by a trade window check to make sure you have it, you go on a run organised by a respected guild/person, and people bid on the gear they want, the money goes into the pot and gets split at the end of the run. So you can make a profit if you don’t want/need any gear. It sounds like a good way of getting upgrades and most BIS or close to it gear can be bought for less than it costs to make a craftable item, and having just just purchased off the AH for 9850 Gold Merlins robe , and I already have the crafted bracers this crafted item business is getting expensive.

Healer survey contains a wealth of information about healing

If you’ve ever wanted a close-up look at the game’s healing zeitgeist, Miss Medicina has it — she recently started up a survey/meme of healers around the WoW blogosphere, and the answers are now in and posted on her site . They make for some interesting weekend reading, especially if you’re interested in healing and what healers think of it. I’m sure there’s lots of conclusions that could be drawn out of this (I’ll let you all come up with some in the comments as well), but just reading through them on my own, it seems like there’s a few threads between them.

Happy Halloween from WoW.com and Massively

Happy Halloween, dear readers! Today’s the day, the spookiest day of the year! In the real world, prepare yourself to sit through hours and hours of random children in costumes ringing your doorbell begging for treats from strangers.

WoW Insider Show live today at 3:30pm

Our podcast brings the usual tricks and treats this afternoon — before you head out in a costume to go get some real candy, be sure to stop by our Ustream page around 3:30pm Eastern and get some ear candy first. Turpster and I will welcome Eddie ” Brigwyn ” Carrington and another WoW.com writer to chat about the most popular posts on the site this week. On the docket, we’ll have the new patch 3.3 notes , hints at things to come , why pallies are up in arms (and why they don’t have too much to worry about), and the new looting system and what disenchanters think of it.

Around Azeroth: Always safety first

Ah, Halloween! The spookiest night of the year! When young children dress up as ghouls and goblins and are encouraged to go beg for candy from strangers, and adults dress up as all manner of horrifying things and beg for their car keys back after drinking ten Jagerbombs at a party. This screenshot of Frederrick on Jubei’Thos shows the natural consequence of the latter action. “Apparently, he got his dates mixed up, thought it was Brewfest instead of Hallow’s End, and ended up passing out in an apple barrel somewhere over in Shadowmoon Valley,” writes submitter Dylan

WRUP: Happy, happy Hallow’s End edition

Ah, Saturday! That pristine day of the week when one needn’t get up early for work, contend with rush hour traffic, or even crawl out of bed if you don’t feel like it. Of course, this Saturday also appears to be some kind of crazy, candy-worshiping holiday — which means you could have friends trying to drag you away from bed (or WoW ) to participate in their candy-coated shenanigans

Breaking in The Newbie

So you’ve just recruited a new healer and need to integrate them into your healing line up. The question a lot of people have is how do you do this effectively? Well, it will obviously be different a little bit for every guild but I’d like to offer up some tips As a Leader Communication Probably the most important thing you can do is talk with the new person

Breakfast Topic: The ninja problem

The new LFG system is certainly great, but there’s one problem with random PuGs that I’m sure it won’t fix, and that is of course the problem of ninjas .

Solution for microphone problems in DDO

One of the nicest features of Dungeons and Dragons Online is that the game comes packaged with a built in party voice chat system. So long as a player has a microphone, the game allows them to chat with the people they group with without having to connect to an external server. Unfortunately for me, I have had a hell of a time getting my mic to work with DDO….

Chilling Therorycraft

There are simply some people in the world you listen to on certain matters. When it comes to deep Tankadin theorycraft, the person I listen to the most is Theck of Blackrock. The guy is a math genius, but he also knows how to unpack his findings and make them understandable to meatshields like me.
