PS: Paladin Tanks Nerfed In Hot Fix

I put my thoughts in an article on Paladin Schmaladin . Here’s the net-net. In the end, I don’t think this will have much effect on us.

Ensidia temporarily banned for exploits

It looks like Ensidia’s 25-man world first on the Lich King will go down with an asterisk next to it, because they’ve all just received a three-day ban for “Abuse of in-game mechanics or glitches with intent to exploit or cheat in World of Warcraft .” The Ensidia blog post reporting this is down as of this writing due to traffic, but you can still view the Google cache . The story is that Ensidia made use of Saronite Bombs to “bypass The Lich King fight mechanics” (Saronite Bombs and similar items were disabled in a hotfix last night ). In addition to the temporary ban, all items and achievements they gained from downing Arthas have been revoked

Moonfire, Scaling, and ICC Raiding

In the Moonkin Basics post I did last week I said “there is some discussion that Moonfire does not scale well at the very top levels of gear.” In this post I want to take a closer look at that statement, and see if there is a need to change the Moonkin rotation when you complete your The Hypothesis: The Hypothesis is this. Moonfire does not scale as well as Starfire or Wrath, and that the DPET (Damage per Execute Time) of an unextended Moonfire is less then that of an Eclipsed Starfire or Wrath.

Ghostcrawler on hunter ammo replacement

As you may recall, Blizzard announced their intent to get rid of consumable ammo in Patch 3.1 , only to withdraw the change a short time later, with the promise of reimplementing it at a nebulous later date. Now, it’s been more or less assumed that said later date is Cataclysm itself, or at least Patch 4.0. In a general forum post created to discuss ammo replacements, Ghostcrawler piped in to remind us that the only change announced for Cataclysm was the removal of ammo, with nothing else yet decided (or, more accurately, announced).

ICC Moonkin Raiding Gear

PLEASE NOTE: The list DOES NOT currently include Heroic gear or Arthas gear from ICC.

Looking Back at a Year O’ Pike

I decided to go back through aaaallll my blog posts and see what I did this past year. Here’s what happened, in a nutshell: January 2009 : The remnants of Pike’s old and exploded guild < Entelechy > coalesced into < Friend Ship > a few months prior and because it’s a tiny baby guild we’re mostly PuG’ing stuff. At this point I was in Naxx25 PuGs with Tawyn, topping the Patchwerk meters in blues with endless Steady Shot spam

Totem Talk: The Shaman of 2009

2009 has been a year of almost continuous changes for shamans. It seems that not a patch has gone by without some changes to the class, some major, some not so severe. The class has seen mysterious DPS shortfalls, a minor controversy about health in PvP that then carried over into PvE content with the high levels of AoE damage in Ulduar with patch 3.1.

The best of WoW.com: April 2009

April rolled around, and so did patch 3.1 and Ulduar — a huge, all-encompassing raid experience that pitted you against Titanic creations and Yogg-Saron, distant cousin of C’thun. Later in the month, a revamped Noblegarden went live to howls of protest from players who found all of their egg spawns camped , and we got some unsettling news that someone was one-shotting Ulduar bosses

The best of WoW.com: February 2009

We’d rolled Naxxramas, trounced Malygos, beaten Sartharion and his little drakes to death — and that was all there was to do in Tier 7.

Patch Notes: Eclipse Buffed

Eclipse now increases damage done by Wrath by 40% (up from 30%) and the critical chance of Starfire by 40% (up from 30%) First Impression: When I first saw this change I was disappointed. Like many moonkin I don’t want to see so much of our DPS to Eclipse
