Stat changes in Cataclysm: Death Knight Style

T oday represents the last in our tri-partite look at the Cataclysmic stat changes.? As promised, Death Knights are the topic of today’s discussion.? Again, I’d like to make sure to note that like everything else Blizzard does, this is subject to change.? With that in mind, we’ll be looking more at the general directions they want to go. For DPS Death Knights Being a bi-functional class (tanking and DPS), we have to look at the changes in two ways.? Let’s check out the DPS stats changes first.? Here’s the old stat priority for Frost DPS: Hit (until cap) > Str > Expertise (until cap) > Crit > Haste The only two stats that are going away that we had some moderate use for are Attack Power and Armor Penetration, but as you can see, those weren’t really in our top five.? In fact, they will each now convert into one of those or stamina, so it’s all good.? As long as you’re wearing plate, you should be well itemized.? The non-plate items will be tailored towards other classes, and we will probably see less overlap, making those items not as good for us.? As a plate, melee DPS, we should just be prepared to see more stamina and more strength.? Nothing big here

3.3.3 Mounts, Battlecry Mosaic, Blue posts

Patch 3.3.3 Mounts Patch 3.3.3 introduced a couple of new mounts and I think it’s time for a recap! Celestial Steed The Celestial Steed is probably the most impressive mount of his patch, it looks like a mix of Invincible and Algalon. I’m not really sure where this mount will drop for the moment but considering how cool it looks, I wouldn’t expect it to be widely available.

World of Farmcraft

Game developers, as well as the armchair developers on blogs and forums, tend to design games around what *they* would like to play. So if I’d ask you for what features your dream MMORPG would have, I’m sure you could provide me a list.

Frozen Orbituary: The Death of Rolling ‘Greed’

Frozen Orbs matter again. Come Patch 3.3.3, Frozo will be exchanging your frozen orbs for crafting materials used in some of the better Pre-ICC craftables. It is prudent, then, in my mind, to inform the greater playerbase at large about this development

Insider Trader: A crafting bazaar

When most people talk about making money with their professions, they usually get pretty focused on Trade channel and the Auction House . It makes a lot of sense, really, because these are the two main avenues of selling in the game. The Trade channel is named Trade for a reason, and if you can brush aside all the Chuck Norris and murloc jokes, you can fairly easily broker a deal

May Have Missed the Most Recent Patch Notes

The actual dps increases are something more like adding Pyroblast to Torment the Weak and Empowered Fire. That may have missed the most recent patch notes. Buh

Patch 3.3.3 projections

Blizzard is currently working on patch 3.3.3 for World of Warcraft, and while nothing is definitive yet, there are already some patchnotes on the test realms which caused two commenters to ask about the patch in yesterday’s open Sunday thread. One change is to the kickout vote system of the random Dungeon Finder group, with the commenter here fearing he’d be kicked out of every group due to low gearscore. I don’t think that is going to happen
