No matter what group you are a part of, how many friends you have, how established you are in the group, and how much everyone loves your character, you will get left out of RP . Other people will write stories in which you will not participate, and they will be awesome and amazing, and you will want to play too, but you won’t be invited, even if you ask. People will leave RP gatherings to do things “in private” and you will get left behind at the bar with nothing to do.
Alright folks – time for another Ask Anna question.
In the open Sunday thread Void expressed his opinion that most MMORPGs either cost $15 a month, or are Free2Play, and wondered why there was no middle ground. That seems to be a common enough thought, Syp from Bio Break just posted about Cryptic games not being worth $15 per month and suggested they go Free2Play instead
Cozmo from GTFOOTF pointed out that so many of us bloggers are playing Wow in some new or different wa y to maintain our motivations to keep playing, and speaking to Kiwired from One of these Alts who has rolled even more Alts with SAN – how SAN ( Single Abstract Noun ) has come about at the right time for him to fill in the gaps between now and the expansion. Alts – Special projects – who will survive this downturn – or shall we see more Phoenix raiders ‘die’ and then resurrect in time for the expansion with grand stories of other games, and stuff like real life stories. The result of a current case of Altolism or Is it ADD is now a Level 20 Shammy – I’m feeling a little guilty

Last week, we talked about ways to add flaws to your roleplay character. These flaws have the benefit of providing realistic depth and humanity to characters which might otherwise feel too “perfect” for believability. (Well, as believable as a magic-wielding orc would be.) The idea is that the depth and development creates a more full, well-rounded personality.

One last question from the open Sunday thread, then I think I answered them all. Void asked: “I would like to see you post about what MMOs could learn from single player games.

In the open Sunday thread there was a question why some people, and me in specific, don’t like PvP. Well, I can give you my reasons, and some general considerations. And while I don’t claim to speak for everybody, it has to be remarked that all non-consentual PvP games have done extremely badly in the history of MMORPGs
Patch 3.3.3 will be bringing about some welcome changes in the user interface , instances , and those pesky frozen orbs you can never get rid of , but it looks like they aren’t the only things getting an overhaul. Fishing around in the PTR files found some new models as well. Two new mounts have been added to the game files, the Blazing Hippogryph and the Wooly White Rhino.

Next Raid Encounter will probably the Ruby Sanctum There is a nice interview of Tom Chilton (Kalgan) on Gameinformer.com . We learn a couple of new things here, including an almost-confirmed upcoming single-boss raid encounter: The Ruby Sanctum in the Chamber of Aspects under the Wyrmrest Temple. The Dungeon Finder tool might be extended “at the very least” to 10-person raids at some point in the future.
