About this site & On a personal note…

How To Win Epics And Influence People

Admit it. You like loot as much as I do. Maybe you oggle over stats on a new shiny with a calculator and spreadsheet at hand

Gold Selling

The Problem Last week Big Bear Butt issued a call for Blizzard to end Prohibition and start selling gold to players . The theory is that by offering players a safe and legal method of purchasing gold, Blizzard will greatly damage the economic incentive of hackers and goldsellers, reducing the damage that hacked accounts are doing to the game.

Notice: Hiatus

Just a heads up that I need somewhere between a few weeks and a month or two to recharge my blogging batteries. Tired bear is tired I’ve been feeling compelled to post every single day recently, which means that writing is starting to feel like a job

Dear Sick guild of Kel’thuzad,

Goin’ Slummin’? Thanks, But No Thanks.

D uring my time spent in WoW, I, like the rest of you, have had occasion to encounter a wide range of behavioral types.? Being somewhat of a psychology geek (or is that nerd? or dweeb? Jbelle ?), I usually view a lot of these types with a bit of a clinical detachment, holding myself aloof from the drama.? Most would say I have a rather high tolerance for things that can be quite annoying or even downright rude.? Hence why I don’t write a whole lot about failed PuGs and getting ninja’ed and such.? I’m the type that wants to find the source of the behavior and puzzle it out, fix it maybe.? In another life, I was probably a decent shrink.

Shifting Perspectives: In defense of a glyph everyone hates

Every week, Shifting Perspectives explores issues affecting druids and those who group with them . This week, we make a dangerous segue from curling to the issue of Healing Touch in raids, shattering our once-promising career with a finger cramp. I’d be the first to admit I don’t take the game quite as seriously as the hardcore theorycrafters at EJ.

A Dedicated Raiding Guild

Casual 101: Knowing Is Half The Battle

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of the “Hardcore Casual” mentality. In my 3 years of playing World of Warcraft, I’ve cut my teeth against some of the best in the game (well, my server or battlegroup).

Breakfast topic: Quest detritus

Anne talked recently about all the bits and pieces that tend to accumulate in a packrat’s bank vault , and I’m one of the guilty parties. I’m a hardcore collector of feral staves, tier sets, tabards, and assorted items that I just can’t bring myself to delete ( Seal of Ascension — seriously, why do I still have this?). Unfortunately, the tendency carries over into quests as well.
