I got Gevlon worried

I must admit that I always thought that Gevlon, like the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz, had no heart. When last year I pulled the stunt of claiming to be somebody else (to make a point about identity on the internet), I choose Gevlon for the simple reason that he was the least likely to get upset about somebody stealing his identity. I thought Gevlon was intelligent, but was completely lacking what is called “Emotional Intelligence”.

Blogging Identity V Real Identity

Looks nothing like me but its a morph of an old pic and my Avatar I know this is a topic that has been covered by others, but not by me, and people got mixed responses from the people who commented on their posts as to how much your blogging identity and your real identity should mix with each other in a blog such as this. The popular consensus was – It’s your blog write what you want to. Most don’t make any money from it – and I guess few would make enough to make a living on blogging about Wow so therefore your not obligated financially at least to provide content that people want.

A free speech experiment

Klepsacovic believes that comment moderation makes blogs worse , because “Supposedly blogs are about conversation.” I’m not even sure whether that starting statement is valid, my first blog entries probably had zero readers at the time, and at that time Blogger didn’t even have a commenting functionality. A blog *can* be about conversation, but it also can be a monologue, a diary, a showcase, or one of many other things.

Guest post: What is the point in Second Life?

[Tobold's note: Virtual worlds which aren't exactly roleplaying games are underrepresented on this blog, as I don't play them. Thus when Josue offered to explain what the attraction of them is in a guest post, I agreed to publish it.] This is a guest post by Josue Habana of Second Life blog Pixel Scoop . Logging into Second Life for the first time was a disorientating experience, to say the least.

Virtual identity theft

How many of you are going to make a goblin character in World of Warcraft and name him “Gevlon”? I’m pretty sure that if I make an armory search a month after Cataclysm releases, I’ll find dozens of goblins named Gevlon. And that’ll be just one of many forms of virtual identity theft the blogger Gevlon is suffering from.
