WoW Patch 3.3.3 Honor and PvP Changes

There’s a lot going down in Patch 3.3.3 I haven’t really covered so far in regards to PvP and specifically my favorite feature – Battlegrounds. All of this is in preparation of the massive PvP overhaul coming in Cataclysm with a heavier emphasis on Battlegrounds. Tokens are being removed from the game, if you have tokens (the currency you get when you win or lose any BG) you’ll be able to turn those in now for a minor chunk of honor, which is a good thing I guess since there are some players out there with thousands of marks of honor

US First GotIR, Patch 3.3.3 Honor Changes, Blue posts

US First Glory of the Raider (25) by Midwinter Midwinter (US-Ysera) was the first guild to complete Glory of the Icecrown Raider (25 player) and I totally forgot to report it. Shame on me, and congratulations to them! Patch 3.3.3 Battlegrounds and Honor Changes Patch 3.3.3 brings a couple of changes to the Battleground system, the new system is heavily inspired from the current random dungeon system and it should be pretty easy to understand. Random Battleground and Call to Arms Call to Arms are no longer a quests and are directly integrated to the battlegrounds interface, a new “Random Battleground” option has been added and give you the same honor bonus as the Call To Arms, but applied to any battleground

Cataclysm in PC Gamer UK, Blue posts

Cataclysm rumours/info now in PC Gamer UK VERY BIG Spoilers In the latest issue of PC Gamer (UK) is a 6 page article named ‘50 reasons to play Catalysm’. The vast majority of what is covered is already known/confirmed, however, there appears to be verifcation of certain rumours first made here on MMO-champion in the days before Blizzcon but that were never confirmed nor denied. Just a note on the source before everyone starts screaming for links for scans

Alganon shake-up

As I mentioned before, last year I received a special invitation to play Alganon in beta, and to tell the developers my opinion about that game. I told them that they were copying WoW too closely, which would never work with the budget they had, and that they would have to do something to differentiate themselves from WoW, either in the business model or the gameplay.

AddOn Spotlight: Castbars

AddOn Spotlight focuses on the backbone of the WoW gameplay experience — the user interface. Everything from bags to bars, buttons to DPS meters and beyond — your AddOns folder will never be the same! This week, can we dethrone Quartz as king of cast bars? The cast bar addon/mod holds a special place in my heart, mostly because it was the last addon I got on board with

So one of the new changes coming in Patch 3.3.3 is that one will be able queue up using the dungeon finder in order to fight world event bosses such as the Crown Chemical Trio or the Headless Horseman . However, the actual extent of the changes is a bit more involved, as Zarhym clarified in a recent forums post
