WoW Patch 3.3.3 Honor and PvP Changes

There’s a lot going down in Patch 3.3.3 I haven’t really covered so far in regards to PvP and specifically my favorite feature – Battlegrounds. All of this is in preparation of the massive PvP overhaul coming in Cataclysm with a heavier emphasis on Battlegrounds. Tokens are being removed from the game, if you have tokens (the currency you get when you win or lose any BG) you’ll be able to turn those in now for a minor chunk of honor, which is a good thing I guess since there are some players out there with thousands of marks of honor

US First GotIR, Patch 3.3.3 Honor Changes, Blue posts

US First Glory of the Raider (25) by Midwinter Midwinter (US-Ysera) was the first guild to complete Glory of the Icecrown Raider (25 player) and I totally forgot to report it. Shame on me, and congratulations to them! Patch 3.3.3 Battlegrounds and Honor Changes Patch 3.3.3 brings a couple of changes to the Battleground system, the new system is heavily inspired from the current random dungeon system and it should be pretty easy to understand. Random Battleground and Call to Arms Call to Arms are no longer a quests and are directly integrated to the battlegrounds interface, a new “Random Battleground” option has been added and give you the same honor bonus as the Call To Arms, but applied to any battleground

The Art of War(craft): Guide to the Isle of Conquest

The Art of War(craft) strives to bring you anything and everything related to PvP . Well, mostly anything that isn’t covered by Arenas, anyway, since that’s kind of Colby’s territory

Arena Season 6 to end soon

Bornakk has just announced that the end of Season 6 will come as early as Tuesday August 25th. You’ll want to be sure that if you’re eligible for arena rewards that you don’t transfer your character or generally screw with your arena team.

WoW Insider Show Episode 102: Stupid big-tongues

We had a terrific time (as always) on the live podcast last Saturday afternoon, as Zach Yonzon , Mike “Belfaire” Sacco , and Turpster and I sat down to talk about the most popular stories in the World of Warcraft . Of course patch 3.2 was at the forefront of our minds, and we chatted about what each of us was most interested in, from the new BG to the 5-man Trial instance

Patch 3.2 in pictures

Over the course of the Patch 3.2 PTR’s lifetime, the WoW.com team probably spent a rather unhealthy amount of time there. Sure, it makes us wonder what the heck is wrong with us, but it pays off for you guys. You’ve seen the fruits of our labor pretty much all day long, and will continue to

Call of the Crusade Trailer

A lot of people were wondering if there was going to be an official Blizzard trailer for World of Warcraft’s Patch 3.2 , Call of the Crusade, and lo’ and behold, there is! Just not out in its usual promptness. The trailer itself is made up of mostly in-game footage of the various events in the new dungeon, the Argent Tournament .

World of Warcraft Patch 3.2 PvP Guide

WoW.com has covered patch 3.2 extensively. Everything from the surprising changes to flying mounts , to the latest and greatest loot , and all the changes in between

Crusaders’ Coliseum and Isle of Conquest Q&A

Blizzard has just released a Q&A on the Crusaders’ Coliseum and the Isle of Conquest. The Q&A is done with Tom Chilton (Game Directory), Scott Mercer (Lead Encounter Designer), and Alex Afrasiabi (Lead World Designer)

Blizzard to focus on battlegrounds more

Ghostcrawler has posted a little paragraph on the forums , reaffirming something we’ve already heard from Blizzard: that in the past, they’ve spent more time on Arenas to the detriment of battlegrounds , and that battlegrounds are going to be gaining a little more focus in the future.

ESL interviews Tom Chilton

Jay Harding from ESL TV was able to catch up to Blizzard Lead Designer and the resident PvP guru Tom Chilton at the World of Warcraft Arena Tournament Regional Finals in Cologne, Germany last June and got to squeeze a decent length interview. Because of the focus of the event, Chilton talked a lot about PvP changes, particularly the impact of the upcoming Patch 3.2

PTR build 10083 official patch note updates

The Patch 3.2 PTR has been updated to build number 10083, and with it comes a list of interesting changes to the official patch notes — some not-insignificant class changes (Wind Shock not sharing a cooldown with other Shocks, Earth Shock no longer interrupting), a buff for Val’anyr, and lots more.

Patch 3.2 PTR Notes Update, Isle of Conquest Changes

Patch 3.2 PTR Notes Update The official patch notes have been updated to reflect the changes from the latest build. Quote from: Blizzard ( Source ) Arenas Beginning with season 7, players will no longer have access to the newest season’s weapons or shoulder armor and will not qualify for the Gladiator title/rewards with ratings from the 2v2 bracket alone. Ratings obtained through 3v3 and 5v5 game play will be required for these rewards, while the rest of the newest season’s items will remain available to players in all brackets (standard rating restrictions still apply)

Tom Chilton talks about 3.2 and the future of World of Warcraft

Videogamer.com has a nice long interview with World of Warcraft Producer Tom Chilton about everything from patch 3.2 and the Argent Tournament to the future of the game at large. They caught up with him at the Warcraft Regional Finals 2009 tournament in Germany this past week, and in part one, he talks about the upcoming patch and what Blizzard is expecting to get out of it. He says the Isle of Conquest battleground is their most “epic-feeling” instanced PvP setting since Alterac Valley, and that they want it to feel nuts, with players fighting each other via air and land.

Breakfast Topic: World of Dancecraft

New tier sets and Arena gear are cool, new 5-man content is awesome, and a new Battleground is almost too good to be true. We’re being hit with a flurry of new content it’s easy to forget that Blizzard still has to introduce those new dances they teased us with before Wrath of the Lich King was released. I just remembered all of this when the world saw one of its pop icons pass on last week, the inspiration for the unmistakable Night Elf male dance

The Daily Quest: Ain’t no silverback girl

We here at WoW.com are on a Daily Quest to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW -related links from around the blogosphere. Fel Fire looks at Patch 3.2 from the perspective of a guild leader . DeathKnight.info continues exploring every corner of the Isle of Conquest on the PTR.

Breakfast Topic: Where will you be honor grinding in Patch 3.2?

So patch 3.2 will be bringing some pretty significant changes to PvP Battlegrounds to say the least. Not only will Wintergrasp be morphing into a weird quasi-battleground with queue, but Warsong Gulch is getting a time limit, Eye of the Storm and Arathi’s resource goal is being slashed, and we’re getting a whole new battleground in the Isle of Conquest

Patch 3.2 PTR Isle of Conquest upcoming changes

I hope everybody’s been having fun on the PTR. I know Matt’s been having a grand time in Patch 3.2’s new Battleground , the Isle of Conquest

Upcoming Isle of Conquest Changes

Upcoming Isle of Conquest Changes Quote from: Zarhym ( Source ) Based on player feedback and testing, we will be making several changes to Isle of Conquest in the next test realm build. We’d like to lay them out for you here in the hopes we’re able to encourage continued participation and feedback.

Ghostcrawler on why Bluetrackers suck

Ghostcrawler has finally said on the forums what I’ve been saying for a while here on WoW.com and elsewhere: using blue text on the forums as a way of disseminating information is “a strange way to communicate.” He’s been appending the words “[Not tracked]” to some of his posts so they don’t end up on the official “bluetracker,” because a lot of what he posts is just silly and fun and not to be poured over and examined (especially without the context of the other posts around it).
