The forums, my email, hell even my voice-mail is full of QQ . “This is too hard! This is bullshit!This is imbalanced!” Now to a certain degree I can understand balancing issues and the fact that Blizzard’s matchmaking system needs a few tweaks and a much bigger player base to pull opponents from because as it stands now you have about as much a chance to face an equal enemy player as you do somebody ranked infinitely higher than yourself. But the game is far from broken and with a few minor tweaks, you can find yourself on the delivering end of the ass beating.

No matter what group you are a part of, how many friends you have, how established you are in the group, and how much everyone loves your character, you will get left out of RP . Other people will write stories in which you will not participate, and they will be awesome and amazing, and you will want to play too, but you won’t be invited, even if you ask. People will leave RP gatherings to do things “in private” and you will get left behind at the bar with nothing to do.

One of the good and bad aspects of an MMO is that it is a form of storytelling that does not really end in the same way that a consistent narrative does. A novel, a movie, even a single player RPG can have a climax in a way that a MMO like World of Warcraft simply cannot.

F or some time now, I’ve been running my second spec as Demonology. I primarily use the spec for the daily random heroic that I run, but I’ve also lately found it quite fun in Battlegrounds. I want to go on record here at that start saying that everything I learned about this spec, I learned from the late Abigore (not that he’s died, mind you, just moved on to other things) and his wonderful guides .? Since he’s no longer blogging, I wanted to take the time to continue what he started, even if my advice will be somewhat more casual and less involved.? The spec is a great spec, and it deserves to be broadcast in it’s own right.? I will still (and probably always) raid Affliction, but Demonology has strengths where Affliction has weaknesses, making it perfect for a second spec.

The last MMO that I played for myself was Dungeons and Dragons Online back in early November.

Fat, Ugly and Flying strikes me as an incredibly beautiful piece. It’s the freshman machinima project between two friends, and I think the wonderful, hopeful surreality of the video does great justice to its source.

Anne talked recently about all the bits and pieces that tend to accumulate in a packrat’s bank vault , and I’m one of the guilty parties. I’m a hardcore collector of feral staves, tier sets, tabards, and assorted items that I just can’t bring myself to delete ( Seal of Ascension — seriously, why do I still have this?). Unfortunately, the tendency carries over into quests as well.

Blue posters are fairly silent these days, hopefully it won’t be long before we see a couple of announcements, keep in mind that a new minor patch is on the way and we will probably hear about it very soon.

I want to take a quick look at Languish and the 4T10 set bonus. I’ve seen several forum posts and received several e-mails that indicate to me that this mechanic is not as well understood as I thought. In this post I hope to make the mechanic a little clearer for those that might be confused on how it works.

The Colosseum takes us inside the world of the Gladiator (Relentless, Furious, Deadly, Brutal, Vengeful, Merciless, and otherwise), to interview some of the top Arena fighters on the battlegroups. Our goal is to bring a better understanding of the strategy, makeup, and work that goes into dueling it out for fame, fortune, and Frostwyrms. We’re especially focused on the people who play these games, to further shed light on the world of the PvP player.

I shall be changing my name to the Prima Donna Healer … ( not)  I have taken to asking tanks “ Are you a Psycho chain pulling tank?” as I zone into an instance. “We just did HOL in 6 min! – Is that fast enough?” was my reply last night. I then gird my loins  for what is to come .
