The best of WoW.com: October 2009

October, as with August, was mostly a lot of news reporting. The patch 3.3 PTR dropped on October 1st and everyone went nuts for the last (we think) major content patch of Wrath of the Lich King . Next up?

The best of WoW.com: August 2009

BlizzCon , BlizzCon, BlizzCon! That’s pretty much what August was all about — well, that and patch 3.2 .

It came from the Blog: Our very first Battleground Bonanza

Last week, some PvP minded It came from the Bloggies got together for our first Battleground Bonanza . We split into groups according to our level brackets and had some Battleground fun. Mike Schramm lead the 20s group and I lead the 60s group.

Curse has recently released version 4 of their addon client to open beta. This is a major overhaul from their current client both in looks and functionality. It adds features such as change logs, settings backup, addon package creation, and a healthy dose of added security.

We came.

BlizzCon 2009: Worgen animation

Our own Mike Schramm brings you video of the process Worgen players will undergo when they transform, fresh from the BlizzCon floor. Enjoy your piping hot man to beast-man transformation! I know I’m going to be keeping my Worgen in his bestial form as much as possible, myself, but it’s still cool to watch. Update by Mike Schramm: Since we took this video at the Art Panel, I’ve played the Worgen on the floor, and this animation is now fully implemented in the demos here

WoW.com on TNB and elsewhere

If you’re around this evening and want to listen in to some extra podcast discussion, head on over to the Twisted Nether Blogcast page around 9:30 pm PST this evening — our friends Fimlys and Nibuca of TNB have asked me to join them on their podcast, and it’s sure to be a good time. We’ll be chatting live with listeners, too, so if you’ve ever had questions about how we do things on the site or haven’t been able to listen in to our own podcast , now’s your chance. And speaking of the Twisted Nether Blogcast, they’re also holding their own meetup at BlizzCon , just a few weeks away.

It came from the Blog: We flamed the Eastern Kingdoms

The Eastern Kingdoms were flamed and we had fun doing it. Our It came from the Blog event last Saturday was actually two events: an all levels event followed by a mounted/flightpathed event.

WURP: Ziebart hunting

There’s a chance we may all be in the gravest peril — and that’s the excuse I’m going to give for nearly no one on the team playing World of Warcraft this weekend. So what’s the peril today

WoW Insider Show live worldwide this afternoon

Filed under: Paladin , Analysis / Opinion , WoW Insider Business , Blizzard , PvP , Humor , Raiding , Talents , WoW Insider Show Yes, our show is going intercontinental yet again today — on one side of the world, we’ll have the inimitable Turpster chatting with us from England, and on the other, Zach Yonzon will be calling in from his home in the Philippines. We’ve tried to tackle some Paladin news lately, and we haven’t done it very well, so Zach will help us get a grip on what’s up with you plate healers lately

WoW Insider Show Episode 77: The Lady Factor

Filed under: Patches , Analysis / Opinion , How-tos , Podcasts , Podcasting , Virtual selves , Odds and ends , Blizzard , Humor , Wrath of the Lich King , WoW Insider Show We had a great time on the WoW Insider Show this past weekend — Turpster and I welcomed back Michael Sacco (formerly known as Belfaire on the official forums and now a blogger here on WoW Insider) and manly man Matthew Rossi to talk about what’s coming up in patch 3.0.9 , what we thought of the dual spec news we heard last week, and our progress (or lack thereof, apparently) on the Love is in the Air event. We also answered lots of emails from listeners, and speculated on what Blizzard’s future release schedule might look like.
