One Shots: Hanging with the boss

Filed under: World of Warcraft , Fantasy , Screenshots , One Shots While our sister site, WoW.com , gets the lion’s share of World of Warcraft screenshots for their daily Around Azeroth column, we do still get the occasional screenshot from a player — albeit few and far between! Today’s overlook screenshot comes to us from occasional contributor Deadend from the Exodar server, who writes in: Here is Mimiron’s joint. Mimiron is, from a game play standpoint, probably one of my all time favorite bosses in WoW .

We have our pony: Invincible revealed

Guys? We have our pony! The Warcraft twitter account just linked to a new page on the official World of Warcraft site regarding Invincible . This stallion served Arthas in life as his mount

Moonkin Basics: Spells and Rotations

The notion of a spell rotation is a bit out dated. Back in TBC a lot of classes had very standard rotations where you cast this spell then that spell, followed by another spell, then you start over. Moonkins had the tried and true MF, SF*4 or MF, IS, SF*4.

ICC Moonkin Raiding Gear

PLEASE NOTE: The list DOES NOT currently include Heroic gear or Arthas gear from ICC.

Punishment for NetEase coming this month in China

JLM Pacific Epoch reported last week that an agreement has been reached regarding NetEase and that punishment will be announced this month. The two government agencies fighting over whether or not NetEase engaged in illegal activities have agreed that by charging fees before full approval, NetEase is guilty of acting against regulations. The disagreement began when the General Administration of Press and Publications halted their review of the game in November 2009, but were opposed by the Ministry of Culture in their decision.

Biggest Surprises of 2009

With 2009 now winding down and a new year — and even decade — being ushered in on Friday, I decided to put together what I feel are the biggest surprises of 2009.? This list is not all-inclusive; there are more surprises than this, but I don’t want it to look like a novel.? Feel free to share yours in the comments! 10.

Epic With A Capital Purple

I’ve been thinking lately about moments in World of Warcraft that made me go all Keanu Reeves and say “…whoa”. There have been a lot of these moments. I decided to list them.

Bubbles and Crits, part 2: What the Hell Took you so Long?

This is a guest post by jeffo, a Paladin blogger from Looking For More . Way back on September 15 I posted ‘Bubble and Crits: 3.0 to 3.2’ .? In that post, I examined the development of Holy Paladins from the release of Wrath up to the much-feared Great Illumination Nerf of 2009 (i.e. Patch 3.2), and looked at how the changes to mana regeneration across the board in that patch ‘encouraged’ Holy Paladins to go from a Holy/Ret Crit-based spec into a Holy/Prot spec that focused on mitigation through Divine Sacrifice and Divine Guardian .? I concluded that the Illumination nerf didn’t hurt these so-called ‘Bubble Spec’ Paladins that badly after all, and vowed to follow up with a look at how ‘Critadins’ were holding up in the mana department.

One Shots: Crazy train

Filed under: World of Warcraft , Fantasy , Screenshots , One Shots As time winds down before the reset coming in Cataclysm , many World of Warcraft players are working their way through all the raid content, including Ulduar. For those who have never wandered into this particular dungeon, we have this great World of Warcraft screenshot from Deadend on the Exodar server. This is the bullet train that takes adventurers to face the insane tinkerer, Mimiron.

Hey Look a Post or Something

Gated unlocking of bosses once again. Yeah, they’re treating the gamers like children, only handling out a few of the candies at one time so the chocolate box will last longer

Teir Ten Four Piece Puzzle

We now have the stats on Tier 10 for Paladin tanks. Let me add in the normal PTR PSA.

Gated Systems and Assorted Musings (WARNING: Bearwall)

Quite the bombshell. ICC is going to be gated, and gated very heavily.

Of Healer Guilt and DPS Envy

Back when hunters were my only endgame characters, I would get super jealous of those healers and tanks who could seemingly daintily dip a toe into LFG and be in a group seconds later, while I still sat waiting… waiting… waiting… I saw being a healer or tank as being like the Beatles or Elvis as people flung themselves onto their car. Everyone wants you. Everyone loves you

It’s a Pet Store not a Gear Store

Blizzard’s opened up the virtual pet store where you can purchase the first of several pets to come. I don’t actually know this, but I’m fairly certain we’ll be seeing more purchasable pets later. What’s the big deal?

World of Raids Player Spotlight, Kripparrian of Exodus

World of Raids Player Spotlight , Kripparrian of Kripparrian is considered to be one of the top DPS hunters in the game, holding half of the No. 1 spots on the Wowmeteronline scoreboards among hunters for Trial of the Crusader and having been a part of several top-ranked PVE accomplishments during his time with Exodus of Ysondre-US.? He’s also the next player to be featured in our new segment, the World of Raids Player Spotlight.

Four Alarm Fire

We’ve been extending our Ulduar Raid ID with the express purpose of finishing off the hard modes in Ulduar that have eluded us to this point. Our current target is Mimiron’s Firefighter hard mode. This was our second night working on Firefighter

The Care and Feeding of Warriors: Cooldowns

Every week Matthew Rossi slaves in his kitchen over a hot stove, primarily because he needs something to nosh on while composing The Care and Feeding of Warriors, WoW.com’s column about warriors. Also, he’s chained to the stove. No no, don’t ask, it’s a long story

Night Falls

“Twilight is upon me, and soon, night must fall.

Knocking Out Hard Modes

So Thursday we headed for Ulduar to start working on Hard Modes. We wanted to concentrate on ones we hadn’t gotten yet, so we started with Thorim.
