The Light and How to Swing It: Tips to become an all-star healer

Every Sunday, Chase Christian of The Light and How to Swing It invites you to discuss the finer side of the paladin class: the holy specialization. This week, we examine what separates the good paladins from the great paladins, and how to get yourself into the second category. Over the course of the past week, I’ve been in Stratholme, power-leveling a few lowbies in my guild.

Breakfast Topic: If you could have any ability in WoW

What would it be? I used to know this guy who did a podcast for his web series

3.3.3 Random Dungeons, Blue posts, WoW TCG

Patch 3.3.3 – Random Dungeons Changes Patch 3.3.3 should be deployed during the next maintenance on live servers and it’s time to mention a few interesting changes to the Dungeon Finder that I forgot to report in the past weeks.

Ready Check: Raid buffs for great justice

Last week, we talked about the core buffs just about every raid needs to get by. I included the 3% damage buff provided by some folks like retribution paladins. While ample raids get by without that buff, it’s so straightforward that I felt it merited inclusion.

Leveling a DK: An Introduction to Power Leveling Concepts

Heya guys!! So I recently made a post illustrating the core concepts and decisions you need to approach when leveling a DK. And that in turn has generated some interest in the Power Leveling aspect of DK’s

Raid Rx: Healing Sindragosa

Every week, Raid Rx will help you quarterback your healers to victory! Your host is Matt Low , the grand poobah of World of Matticus and a founder of No Stock UI , a WoW blog for all things UI, macro, and addon related. Sindragosa is easily the most agonizing boss in the entire instance. I personally thought Professor Putricide was bad but once I got to her chamber and started several attempts, my faith in myself was shattered.

Newbie Helper: Choosing The Best Class For You

World of Warcraft offers a variety of classes that you can play with. At first, it may be overwhelming for you when you are choosing a class for the first time or starting a second character.

Encrypted Text: Hit and expertise in Icecrown

Every Wednesday, Chase Christian of Encrypted Text invites you to enter the world of shadows, as we explore the secrets and mechanics of the Rogue class. This week, we discuss hit and expertise (or the lack thereof) on ICC gear.

The Light and How to Swing It: Ret tips from the healer

With the Light as his strength, Gregg Reece of The Light and How to Swing It faces down the demons of the Burning Legion, the undead of the Scourge, and helps with the puppet shows at the Argent Ren Faire up in Icecrown. At least, he usually does. But Gregg’s a little pre-occupied this week.

One Night with the King

Thanks for all the comments on the Twinking post. I’ve decided to level my Hunter, and I’ve started working on a gear list for him. It’s almost like end game gear planning, which I enjoy, only with much less guidance

Breakfast Topic: I don’t have one of those

Rogues. I don’t have a single rogue on my account on any of the servers I even semi-regularly play on.

Suggestions for Cataclysm

Now that the Lich King is out and with guilds actively working on Heroic mode Lich King in 25s, people are starting to look ahead with more urgency towards the impending Cataclysm release. We have already been hearing rumors and tidbits for weeks now. The complete overhaul of stats, talents and class balance changes stand to reinvent WoW for the 3rd time over.

Twink Experiment

As a guild we like to do stuff together.

The Light and How to Swing It: Healing Valithria Dreamwalker

Every Sunday, Chase Christian of The Light and How to Swing It invites you to discuss the finer side of the paladin class: the holy specialization.

Breakfast Topic: I will destroy you

(With apologies to anyone who played Mass Effect or who brings Jack along in ME2 .) More and more lately I use the dungeon finder as a pure stress release. I don’t sign up to tank: we seem to have hit a decent steady state on Stormstrike where a queue rarely lasts more than 10 minutes for DPS, so it’s safe for me to let someone else tank and play around with DPS ideas. It’s actually to the point where I’m looking forward to seeing exactly what kind of group I’ll get on any particular run.

The Colosseum: Athlete, paladin of Mug’thol

The Colosseum takes us inside the world of the Gladiator to interview some of the top Arena fighters on the battlegroups. Our goal is to bring a better understanding of the strategy, makeup, and work that goes into dueling it out for fame, fortune, and Frostwyrms

Phat Loot Phriday: Glorenzelg, High-Blade of the Silver Hand

Glorenzelg, High-Blade of the Silver Hand lives on multiple best-in-slot lists.

Balancing class strength and flavor

One of the things I hear a lot from other tanks (especially paladin tanks) is how much they envy Charge , and especially being able to Charge in combat . “Man, I’d give up X for Charge.” Usually what they want to give up is their shield throw , or their AoE taunt , which of course is not a terribly compelling idea: warriors have parallels for these abilities and charge isn’t one of them.

The Care and Feeding of Warriors: I cannot see the future

Frankly, the Bladestorm nerf is a minor one, albeit an extremely annoying minor one.

Have a little links for my friends

There’s a lot of turnover in the blogging world. This crazy hobby (sometimes profession) is one that’s hard to keep up with
