Around Azeroth: I hate pugs

Due to the pre-expansion economic downturn, there’s simply no more room at the Dalaran Home for Unwanted and/or Annoying Non-Combat Pets. So Valafar of on Exodar had to find a less palatable solution for getting rid of his pug when it became overly aggressive.

Arcane Brilliance: Frost 101

It’s the weekend again, and that means it’s time for another Arcane Brilliance , the weekly mage column that would like to continue its ongoing series of “Pictures of things you’re hitting that warlock in the face with.” In today’s installment, we’ll be hitting that warlock with a large chunk of ice.

Around Azeroth: For a thousand summers

Vendarvan of on Kael’Thas knows that you can’t hurry love. He’s decided to sit and wait for his true love, the Maiden of Winter’s Breath Lake , to warm up to his advances. When you can live for thousands of years, hanging around for a couple of years waiting for a date isn’t that big a deal.

Around Azeroth: If wishes were fishes

Looking to hook the big one?

Around Azeroth: Kiko and the lavender moon

Yes, yes, it’s my second Los Lobos reference in as many days, but they’re a good band and “That Train Don’t Stop Here” is pretty tight. Anyway, Karli sent in this screenshot of her character using the Rituals of the New Moon to give her lupine friend some companionship.

WoW Moviewatch: The Shadow of Dawn

The Shadow of Dawn was the entry to Alienware’s Rise to Power from Blackhand Pictures. The story is essentially about a human Alliance member who gets sucked into the Lich King’s web of tyranny, only to eventually be freed by Tirion Fordring at the Battle of Light’s Hope Chapel. The video is absolutely gorgeous

Around Azeroth: Mesdames butterfly

I’m pleased to announce that due to the acquisition of our parent company by one Mr. Andrew Ryan, Around Azeroth will now be changed to Around Rapture

Around Azeroth: The taurlock

Tired of managing her totems, Naiara of on Earthen Ring is seeking a new path in life. “Ever since I won the roll on the gas mask I knew I must put my evil plan in motion!” she writes. “Never fear, this is just an ordinary mad scientist ..

Shifting Perspectives: Tree 1, Arthas 0

Every week, Shifting Perspectives explores issues affecting druids and those who group with them . This week, we save the world (of Warcraft). Originally this week’s article was going to concern stomping Karazhan from top-to-bottom as a feral/resto druid, and then I got Big Bad Wolf for the opera event.

Around Azeroth: Dragons in the mist

Deadlylupine of on Balnazzar snapped this shot of her drake rising through the mist in Terokkar Forest. “I happened to be flying in lovely Terokkar, and my Nether Drake was just so overwhelmed with light, he had to have a celebratory roar,” she wrote. Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder

Around Azeroth: Will the wolf survive

With the number of mounts, vanity pets and summonable creatures in WoW, it’s surprising that we don’t see more incidents like this one. A?ro of on Fizzcrank is having trouble keeping her newly acquired wolf mount from devouring her phoenix pet. She’s not just looking out for the safety of the bird — those phoenixes can cause a heck of a case of heartburn if they ignite on the way through the wolf’s esophagus.

Around Azeroth: Personal space

We’ve been getting quite a few submissions from the Sindragosa fight lately.

Phat Loot Phriday: Wind Rider Cub

Lolegolas the Gnomekiller lounged next to the lumber mill in Arathi Basin . His sinewed arms lovingly stroked his bow.

Around Azeroth: Collateral damage

After kiting Thrym the Hope Ender down to K3, Jayenn of on Khadgar had to destroy the city in order to save it. Well … actually, he probably could have saved the city by not kiting Thrym there in the first place, but where’s the fun in that

3.3.3 Mounts, Battlecry Mosaic, Blue posts

Patch 3.3.3 Mounts Patch 3.3.3 introduced a couple of new mounts and I think it’s time for a recap! Celestial Steed The Celestial Steed is probably the most impressive mount of his patch, it looks like a mix of Invincible and Algalon. I’m not really sure where this mount will drop for the moment but considering how cool it looks, I wouldn’t expect it to be widely available.

Misc thoughts that don’t deserve their own post.

Am looking for a new country to live in. Am thinking maybe Finland – I love Australia, but this internet censorship thing is really concerning. Especially when our politicians are already hiding a specific cloud tags on their own site by editing ‘borrowed’ ( link is the the code writers blog request for the minister to remove the code from his site) code to to avoid the phrase “ISP filtering” appearing.

Plushie Photo Contest: Show us your plushies

So you hopped into the Blizzard Store and ordered yourself a plushie or two. Or maybe you picked up one from BlizzCon . Regardless, there you are, with at least one official Blizzard stuffed toy

Pardon The Interruption

W e interrupt this regular posting schedule to bring you a Fulguralis rant. To set the stage for this rant, you must view the previous post, in which Fuubaar uses a rather odd looking picture that initiated the following musing… I knew today was Fuu’s day to post so I didn’t get around to looking at things until the afternoon.? Her and I tend to IM each other a lot via Gmail chat at work, and she asked: “Did you see the picture.” My initial response was: “Yes, but I don’t get it.” She followed with: “Did you read the post.” So I went back and re-read the post just in case I’d missed something.? Nope.? “I still don’t get it,” Say I.

Around Azeroth: Were the world mine

Laser light show! Valafar of Exodar may need to take a break from this feature for his own sanity — his latest e-mail refers to himself as ‘the greatest photographer in Azeroth’ — but he certainly knows how to put on a performance. His latest masterpiece depicts the life and unlife of Arthas Menethil, set to the tune of Rush’s 2112, with special effects provided by the Gnomeregan Engineering Corps (or Corpses, depending on how long they’ve spent in those irradiated tunnels.) Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder?

Around Azeroth: Botanical violence

Hey, buddy. Can you spare any change? Just a couple gold, for repairs and stuff.
