How will the Stormrage novel tie into Cataclysm?

So the convention is over, Blizzard has shown all (or at least most — there are still secrets, we’re sure) of their cards, and the next expansion will involve the return of Deathwing and a completely remade Azeroth . Goblins will be in there as the Horde race, but as for the original speculation of the Maelstrom and the Emerald Dream , well… It remains to be seen exactly how those will tie in to what we heard about at BlizzCon.

Tom Chilton talks about 3.2 and the future of World of Warcraft

Videogamer.com has a nice long interview with World of Warcraft Producer Tom Chilton about everything from patch 3.2 and the Argent Tournament to the future of the game at large. They caught up with him at the Warcraft Regional Finals 2009 tournament in Germany this past week, and in part one, he talks about the upcoming patch and what Blizzard is expecting to get out of it. He says the Isle of Conquest battleground is their most “epic-feeling” instanced PvP setting since Alterac Valley, and that they want it to feel nuts, with players fighting each other via air and land.

The Maelstrom: Lore behind the possible next WoW expansion

Many of you have likely heard the theory floating around that the Emerald Dream might be the next expansion pack, but you may not have heard about the other popular theory: The Maelstrom . Ok, well, the first thing I noticed was the Gurloc and Wolvar orphans — new Children’s Week fun! — but the second thing was the fact that we’ve got an “aquatic” mount going into the game for the first time ever
