Blizzard Entertainment has given further confirmation that the upcoming launch of World of Warcraft’s Wrath of the Lich King expansion will indeed happen that year. In the fourth quarter, to be a little more precise.

“I can tell you it’s not coming in the July to September quarter,” said Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime during a recent conference shout after assuring WoW fans that Wrath of the Lich King will be released in 2008.

Morhaime plus said that the expansion’s beta testing, which started last month, is “going very well”. As for their competitors, Morhaime noted that 40 percent of WoW gamers who made the move to Age of Conan have since returned.
