World of Warcraft reminder: posting unreleased subject matter/hacking documents files punishable by ban
Written by .

Wrath of the Lich King - Image 1Everyone knows that there has been some leaked data about the contents of the World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Alpha checking phase. Well, you’re not going to be seeing that info on the official forums of the game.

Community Manager Nethaera took the moment to remind the community of the penalties for posting knowledge about unreleased or hacked info files on the forums.

She cited the rules and guidelines which stated that the showing unreleased in-game items, equipment, or areas that have been unlocked by hacking into info files or showing the results of hacking or tampering with the game’s MPQ files is punishable by a permanent ban from the forums. In addition, discussion or any display of data not available through normal game play is plus punishable by banning.

Even whether you weren’t the source of the data, simply talking about it can get you banned from the forums permanently. So be advised of these restrictions whether you don’t want to be banned from the official World of Warcraft forums.
